Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) is ending the year on a high note, with the former star racehorse having come up with another five winners over the past weekend.

Not only did Twice Over sons BENI DES DIEUX and DOUBLE GAMES both win in Mauritius on Saturday, Twice Over came up with three more winners in South Africa this past weekend.

The son of Observatory enjoyed success at both Fairview and Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday before his son GRINKOV won a thrilling race at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth the following day.

Twice Over’s first local success this weekend came when his daughter TWICE TO HEAVEN claimed the sixth race at Fairview on Friday.

Trained by Sharon Kotzen, the Clifton Stud bred filly powered home to a half length win, under Yuzae Ramzan, in Friday’s race.

Now a three time winner, Twice To Heaven is owned by Messrs Kotzen, Naidoo, Volo, Jack Swart,Kenny Govender, Mrs D Jithoo, Ben Botha (Pty) Ltd  and SKR (Pty) Ltd.

Twice Over is also the sire of CATALEYA SUMMER, who broke her maiden when victorious at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday night. That three-year-old stayed on gamely to score a near three-parts of a length win for trainer Glen Kotzen and jockey Ashton Arries.

Bred by Ndoro Stud, Cataleya Summer races for       Messrs G P Cox, T W Langley & W Luthi, Miss S Hepburn-Brown & Woodhill Racing Syndicate (Pty) Ltd.

Glen Kotzen also trains Twice Over’s very smart three-year-old son Grinkov, who caught the eye when winning the 11th and final race at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth on Saturday.

Under a great ride from Louis Mxothwa, Grinkov kept going gamely to hold off older rival LION’S HEAD (Dynasty) and win by a short-head.

Bred by Normandy Stud, Grinkov had contested the G2 Cape Punters Cup last time out and he looks to have a big future ahead of him.

He is owned by his trainer in partnership with Messrs Kenny Govender, P Govender, S S Naidoo & P Naidoo.
