Klawervlei Stud’s exciting young stallion WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) came up with his first stakes winner when his impressive two-year-old son DYCE ran out a brilliant winner of the G2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes (1200m) run at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday.
The Lucky Houdalakis trained colt finished with an explosive win on Saturday as he simply blew his rivals away to score by more than four and a quarter lengths.
One of two runners in the Umkhomazi Stakes for his sire, Dyce has now won twice from just five starts, and looks to be a hugely exciting prospect for his sire! Congratulations to one of many of William’s ardent supporters Dave Shaw and his Titanium Racing Stud.
Winner of the 2016 G1 Cape Guineas, the Klawervlei Stud bred William Longsword has made a very promising start to his stud career. His first-crop daughter REMEMBER WHEN went close to giving him another graded stakes winner when she ran second in Saturday’s G2 Prosport International Debutante.
One of more than 100 stakes winners by Klawervlei’s late, great sire CAPTAIN AL (Al Mufti), William Longsword has now been responsible for seven first crop winners.
