Klawervlei Stud’s very much inform stallion WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) looks to have a smart prospect to his name in the form of promising three-year-old MELECH.
The latter made it back to back wins, and two wins from just three starts, when running out a convincing winner at the Vaal on Thursday.
Trained by Roy Magner, Melech was always up with the pace in Thursday’s 1200m contest, and, when Muzi Yeni asked the question, the gelding powered away to defeat METEORIC (Pomodoro) by three-parts of a length.
It was a smart win by Melech, and connections hold the son of William Longsword in high regard.
Bred by Riverton Stud, Melech is owned by John Finlayson.
William Longsword also recently received a handsome boost to his pedigree page, when his close relative GIMME A PRINCE (Gimmethegreenlight) won the prestigious G2 Cape Merchants at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.
Out of William Longsword’s G1 winning half-sister REAL PRINCESS (Trippi), Gimme A Prince has now won four of just six starts and he looks an exciting prospect for the season ahead.
