Klawervlei Stud’s G1 Cape Guineas winning sire WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) looks to have a very smart son to his name in the form of BACK IN BUSINESS.

The latter made it two wins from two starts when storming home to win a good race at Turffontein on Saturday and he looks to have a bright future ahead of him.

A smart winner on debut when scoring over 1160m, the Joe Soma trained Back In Business maintained his unbeaten record when strolling home, under the red hot S’Manga Khumalo, to score by a length and a half. Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Back In Business races for ANOA (Pty) Ltd (Nom: Andria Dannhauser).

The three-year-old is a full-brother to promising two-year-old, and Listed City Of Cape Town Summer Juvenile Stakes runner, KUPHOLIWE.

Back In Business was not the only son of William Longsword to impress over the past few days, with the sire’s son MELECH making it three wins from just four starts when winning at Turffontein last Thursday.

William Longsword is currently the second Leading Sire of 3YOs, by stakes, in South Africa for 2022-2023, with his sophomores having outperformed those by such high profile sires as MASTER OF MY FATE (Jet Master), THE UNITED STATES (Galileo) and VERCINGETORIX (Silvano).
