The Klawervlei Stud bred PERFECT MIRACLE (Hawwaam) made it back to back graded stakes wins when she won the G2 TAB Camellia Stakes (1160m) at Turffontein on Tuesday. Trained by Tony Peter, the three-year-old was always prominent, under Marco Van Rensburg, in Tuesday’s sprint.

Perfect Miracle kept finding more in the closing stages, and the filly powered home to score a shade cosily by three-parts of a length.
In the process, the filly provided her owner Suzette Viljoen with a welcome birthday present!

Perfect Miracle, who had won the G3 World Sports Betting Sycamore Sprint prior to her win on Tuesday, has won four of nine starts. The filly’s earnings stand at R489 511.

Out of the TIGER RIDGE (Storm Cat) mare FREDDY’S SISTER, Perfect Miracle, the first graded stakes winner for her sire Hawwaam, was a R425 000 buy from the 2024 National Yearling Sale.

Klawervlei also enjoyed notable success at this year’s National Yearling Sale. Klawervlei, as Agent, sold 13 yearlings at the National Sale for an aggregate of R11 million, with their yearlings averaging R846 154.

Klawervlei Stud’s G1 winning and G1 producing sire WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) supplied a pair of winners, from just three runners, at the Vaal on Tuesday. William Longsword’s first success on Tuesday came when his Philip Labuschagne trained son POMPEII SHIELD won the third race on the card.

Bred by Drakenstein Stud, and owned by Mr Pooe, Sigrid Swing was winning for a third time when she scored on Tuesday.

Her G1 Cape Guineas winning sire William Longsword has sired numerous high-class performers, led by 2024 G1 World Pool Cape Flying Championship winner DYCE.

Klawervlei Stud enjoyed some fine results at the recently concluded National Yearling Sale in Germiston. Klawervlei, as Agent, sold 13 yearlings at the National Sale for an aggregate of R11 million.

The Klawervlei consigned yearlings averaged R846 154, with no fewer than four making R1 000 000 or more.

Two yearlings from their draft made R2 000 000 apiece- the VERCINGETORIX (Silvano) colt (Lot 133) ot of OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR (Captain Al) was sold to Adam Marcus Racing, while the regally bred GIMMETHEGREENLIGHT (More Than Ready) colt (Lot 360) out of DANCE AT DAWN (Trippi) was knocked down to Peter Muscutt Racing.

The farm’s exciting young stallion KOMMETDIEDING (Elusive Fort) also enjoyed success at the sale, with members of his first crop making up to R425 000.

Klawervlei also bred reigning champion sire VERCINGETORIX (Silvano), whose progeny dominated the ring at this year’s National Sale.
The Leading Sire by Aggregate at the National Sale, Vercingetorix had 29 yearlings fetch R46.2 million, with the champion’s National yearlings averaging R1 593 103.
Remarkably, Vercingetorix was reponsible for the top three lots sold at the National Sale, and was responsible for the sales’ top priced colt and top priced filly. Vercingetorix colt RED TRIX (Lot 163) was knocked down for R5.25 million, with the Vercingetorix filly SENT FLYING (Lot 195)  making R4.75 million.

Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) hails from one of the hottest families in the stud book.
Twice Over’s family came to the fore once again on Friday when his relative SYNCHRONICITY (Night Of Thunder) made a winning debut at Newbury. In the process, the three-year-old full-sister to multiple G1 winner OMBUDSMAN (Night Of Thunder) was named a TDN Rising Star.

Unraced at two, just like her brother, the 900,000 guinea purchase was sent off the 6-4 favourite in the hands of Kieran Shoemark for this seven-furlong affair.

The diminutive filly, she raced professionally throughout and moved into contention stylishly before being asked a question.

Just like her sibling she possesses a smart turn of foot and soon put the race to bed, beating the well-backed SONG OF THE CLOUDS (Night Of Thunder) by two lengths.
Synchronicity was handed a quote of 25-1 for the French 1000 Guineas by Paddy Power post-race, but trainer Ed Walker is keen to move through the levels gradually, pencilling a trip to York during the Dante meeting for a Listed contest often used as a stepping stone to bigger events.

Out of the twice winning mare SYNDICATE (Dansili), Synchronicity’s fifth dam, LOST VIRTUE (Cloudy Dawn), ranks as the third dam of champion Twice Over. This is also the family of recent G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes dead-heater SEGESTA (Ghostzapper).
Twice Over has made headlines both on the track and in the sales ring in 2025-2026, with Twice Over’s star son SEE IT AGAIN capturing both the G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town  Met and G1 HKJC World Pool Premier’s Champions Challenge this season.
Twice Over also had yearlings make up to R900 000 at this year’s Premier Yearling Sale.

This remarkable family gained yet another handsome update when SEGESTA (Ghostzapper) dead-heated for first in Saturday’s G1 Jenny Wiley Stakes at Keeneland.
In a photo finish that took the stewards several minutes to decipher, the G1 Jenny Wiley at Keeneland Saturday finished in a thrilling dead heat between EXPENSIVE QUEEN (Lope De Vega) and Segesta.

The race dynamic changed hours before the race Saturday as a pair of early-morning favourites, LUSH LIPS (Ten Sovereigns) and DESTINO D’ORO (Bolt d’Oro), both scratched. That opened the door for Juddmonte homebred Segesta to inherit the favourite’s role in her first start since winning the G1 Matriarch Stakes at Del Mar in November.

Five-year-old Segesta dug in late as Expensive Queen kept coming strongly, and the pair hit the wire together with the judge unable to separate them.
The Chad Brown trained Segesta, a half-sister to G1 Hollywood Derby winner SALAMIS (Speightstown), has won five of 12 starts and has earned more than US$1.4 million in stakes.

Segesta is out of G1 Just A Game Stakes winner ANTONOE (First Defence), whose fourth dam LOST VIRTUE (Cloudy Dawn) also ranks as the third dam of Twice Over.

This remarkable family is also responsible for one of the world’s top current thoroughbreds in the form of OMBUDSMAN (Night Of Thunder). The latter recently took his earnings to £1,952,925 when he won the 2026 G1 Dubai Turf.
