Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning sire CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) is the sire of a well above average galloper in the form of CAPTAIN HINDSIGHT. The latter made it back to back wins when he won a good race at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.
Trained by Tony Peter, Captain Hindsight tracked the front runners for much of Thursday’s Racehorse Owners Association Middle Stakes (1200m) and when Denis Schwarz asked the question, the classy son of Captain Al quickened up smartly and powered away to score impressively by four and a quarter lengths. Bred by Klawervlei Stud, the Sham family owned Captain Hindsight, who has won or finished third in each of his last four starts, has now won eight times with the gelding having banked nearly R750 000 in stakes.
His sire Captain Of All, South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2018-2019, has had another good season this year, with his flagbearers including Listed Swallow Stakes queen KISS ME CAPTAIN and smart performers CAPTAIN CASEY, TROMPIE and CAPTAIN DIZZY. The latter won three in a row before finishing second last time out.
The champion son of Captain Al also has some hugely exciting two-year-olds representing him this season, headed by G2 WSB SA Nursery runner up JERUSALEMA RAIN and smart debut winners ELUSIVE WINTER and MEU CAPITANO.
Captain Of All has two lots on offer at the 2023 August Two Year Old Sale -a filly (Lot 242) whose six time winning dam is a SILVANO (Lomitas) half-sister to three G1 winners, and a filly (Lot 260) out of a half-sister to G3 winning filly MILL QUEEN (Querari).
