Klawervlei Stud’s four-time G1 winning sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) gained yet another boost to his stellar female line on Wednesday.

Twice Over’s close relative SACRED BRIDGE (Bated Breath) stamped herself a two-year-old to follow when she captured Wednesday’s Listed Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary Stakes (1000m) in facile fashion.

Sent here just a week after scoring on debut at Naas, Juddmonte’s Sacred Bridge was able to continue the momentum and gain a first black-type success. Dropping back from six furlongs, the filly pursued the early pacesetters Misty Ayr and Harmony Rose and after taking their measure passing the furlong pole asserted to score a relatively comfortable win.

Now unbeaten in two starts, Sacred Bridge is out of SACRED SHIELD (Beat Hollow) and ranks as a full-sister to G1 Matriarch Stakes winner VIADERA (Bated Breath).

Sacred Shield herself is out of QUANDARY (Blushing Groom) -the granddam of Klawervlei’s inform stallion Twice Over.

The latter, who will be represented in Saturday’s G1 Vodacom Durban July by his dual July winning son DO IT AGAIN, has had a fine season with his two-year-olds this year. Twice Over’s two-year-old winners in 2020-2021 include G2 4Racing SA Nursery runner-up SMORGASBORD as well as Listed The Lighthouse Foundation Devon Air Stakes winner TWICE THE TRIP. The latter is set to bid for more feature race success when she lines up in Saturday’s G2 Durban Golden Horseshoe.
