Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) has another useful prospect to his name in the form of OLIVER.
That gelding made it three wins in a row, and four wins from his last five starts, when winning a good race at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday.
The Adam Marcus trained Oliver was given a fine ride by Grant Van Niekerk, who is unbeaten on the five-year-old.
Van Niekerk bought his mount with a strong late run down the outside of the track and the pair went on to win Saturday’s Cape Racing Sales Class 3 (1400m) convincingly by a length and a half.
Now a five time winner, the Bernard Kantor owned Oliver was bred by Klawervlei Stud.
Twice Over went close to having a double at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Saturday. His only other runner on the card, LAVENDER BAY, was just beaten when finishing second in Saturday’s fourth race.
From the same family as exciting prospects COSMIC YEAR (Kingman) and OMBUDSMAN (Night Of Theatre), Twice Over could be represented by his daughter OFFICIAL SECRET in Friday’s Listed Algoa Cup, while Twice Over’s star son SEE IT AGAIN holds an entry for the G1 Betway Summer Cup.
