Klawervlei Stud’s four time G1 winning stallion TWICE OVER (Observatory) continues to churn out smart looking winners, and his latest runner to impress was CHAMPION WARRIOR.

An impressive winner of his first two starts, Champion Warrior showed his class when romping home to victory at the Vaal on Thursday afternoon.

His jockey Piere Strydom got a tow from the well backed favourite Parisian Walkway and when switching outward at the 400m mark the horse quickened superbly and powered into the lead running as straight as a dye.

The five-year-old Twice Over gelding won by 2,5 lengths from SKITTLE SKIES (Skitt Skizzle) and PARISIAN WALKWAY (Ideal World).

Trained by Sean Tarry, the Klawervlei Stud bred Champion Warrior races for Glistian (Pty) Ltd and Lance Michael.

The progressive Champion Warrior, winner of his last two starts, could be a big runner for the Grand Heritage and the 1475m trip of that big field race should be right down his alley.

Twice Over had a 100% strike rate at the Vaal on Thursday, with Champion Warrior his sole runner on the card. The champion recently enjoyed a good payday when his daughter OFFICIAL SECRET romped to a seven and a half length win in the Betway Wedgewood Handicap.
