Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning stallion CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) looks to have come up with a very smart two-year-old in the form of JERUSALEMA RAIN. Runner up in the G2 WSB SA Nursery last time out, the classy Ashley Fortune trained gelding showed his class when landing a very competitive race at Turffontein on Thursday afternoon.

Under a strong Raymond Danielson, Jerusalema Rain defied greeness in running by staying on gamely to land Thursday’s Tab4racing Juvenile Plate (1160m) at the expense of a pair of very promising two-year-olds in the form of SANDRINGHAM SUMMIT (Gimmethegreenlight) and READY TO CHARGE (Gimmethegreenlight) respectively.

Bred by Keivan Stud, Jerusalema Rain has now won twice from just four starts and owner Gavin Zurnamer looks to have a lovely horse on his hands. Connections believe Jerusalema Rain has a feature race win in him, and he looks like a great advert for Captain Of All!

His sire Captain Of All, himself a G1 winner at two, had also enjoyed success at Hollywoodbets Greyville one day earlier where his son CAPTAIN ROCKET (bred, like Captain Of All himself, by Riverton Stud) won the eighth and final race on the card.

South Africa’s Leading First Season Sire of 2018-2019, Captain Of All has eight yearlings on offer at the upcoming Cape Racing Winter Mixed Sale and a further six lots on the 2023 KZN Yearling Sale.
