Promising two-year-old VOLCANIC HEAT (Erupt), who hails from the immediate family of Klawervlei Stud’s exciting young sire KOMMETDIEDING (Elusive Fort), made it two wins from two starts when she won at Turffontein on Sunday.

Trained by Robyn Klaasen, Volcanic Heat was given a fine ride by Calvin Habib in Sunday’s 4Racing Welcomes You Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1000m).
Despite having to concede weight to her rivals, Volcanic Heat went out to make the running and the filly kept going gamely to score by a head.

Bred by Riethuiskraal Stud, Volcanic Heat, who had made an impressive winning debut back in December,  races for Dr Simone Kotze.

Sunday’s winner is out of the high-class mare CAPTAINOFMYSOUL (Captain Al), a five time winner who ran second in the G3 Diana Stakes and third in the G3 Champagne Stakes.
The blue blooded Captainofmysoul is a three-parts sister to both triple G1 winner CAPTAIN AMERICA (Captain Al) and Listed Gardenia Handicap runner up ADORABLE.

The latter is the dam of G1 Vodacom Durban July/G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met winner Kommetdieding, whose first yearlings sell in 2026.
