Promising two-year-old VOLCANIC HEAT (Erupt), who hails from the immediate family of Klawervlei’s exciting young stallion KOMMETDIEDING (Elusive Fort), made the perfect start to her racing career on Sunday.

The Robyn Klaasen trained filly made an eye catching, winning debut when she won the first race at Turffontein.
Under Calvin Habib, Volcanic Heat was always up with the pace in Sunday’s 4Racing Welcomes You  Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies), with Volcanic Heat kicking away to win convincingly by nearly a length and three-quarters.
Bred by Riethuiskraal Stud, and owned by Dr Simone Kotze, Volcanic Heat is out of the well performed CAPTAINOFMYSOUL (Captain Al).

The latter, a three-parts sister to triple G1 winner CAPTAIN AMERICA (Captain Al) and the stakes placed dam of Kommetdieding,  won three times and finished runner up in the G3 Diana Stakes and third in the G3 Champagne Stakes.

The brilliant Kommetdieding earned more than R4.255 million during a career which saw him win both the 2021 G1 Vodacom Durban July and 2022 G1 World Sports Betting Cape Town Met.

Kommetdieding’s eagerly awaited first crop are yearlings this season.
