Klawervlei Stud’s G1 Cape Guineas winning sire WILLIAM LONGSWORD (Captain Al) looks to have an exceptional son on his hands in the form of DYCE.

Given a positive ride by Craig Zackey, five-year-old Dyce was always up with the pace in Saturday’s R400 000 contest, and he simply powered away in the closing stages to score by four and a quarter lengths.
Bred and owned by David Shawe, Dyce has now won six of 12 starts for earnings of R834 500. The entire has now won three feature races, with Dyce also victorious in the 2021 G2 Epol Umkhomazi Stakes.
His sire William Longsword is enjoying another good season in 2023-2024, with the half-brother to the G1 winning REAL PRINCESS (Trippi) currently above the likes of TWICE OVER (Observatory), RAFEEF (Redoute’s Choice) and SILVANO (Lomitas) on the General Sires List.
