Klawervlei Stud is home to the only son of outstanding sire UNCLE MO (Indian Charlie) at stud in South Africa in the form of ROYAL MO.

The latter, one of the best three-year-olds of his generation, showed top-class form in a brief racing career with Royal Mo landing the 2017 G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes and running third in the same year’s G1 Santa Anita Derby. (The winner of that Santa Anita Derby, GORMELY (Malibu Moon), has since gone on to make a promising start to his stud career, with Gormley seventh on last year’s Leading First Crop Sires in North America list).
His sire Uncle Mo, whose flagbearers in 2021 including G1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint winner GOLDEN PAL and promising two-year-old MO DONEGAL, is one of the best stallions at stud in North America today.
Sire of 74 stakes winners from his first six crops, Uncle Mo has also shown great promise as a sire of sires, through his G1 producing sons LAOBAN and NYQUIST.

From one of the best families in the stud book, this filly is out of a half-sister to G3 Darley Stakes winner STEELE TANGO (Okawango), and her granddam is a half-sister to US G1 winner SENSE OF STYLE (Thunder Gulch). Her stakes placed third dam SAVE ME THE WALTZ (Kings Lake) is a half-sister to G1 Breeders’ Cup Mile winner and champion sire LAST TYCOON (Try My Best) and this is also the family of promising local sire THE UNITED STATES and the latter’s top-class own sisters HERMOSA (Galileo) and HYDRANGEA, as well as 2021 G1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner TENEBRISM (Caravaggio).

This filly is out of a mare by Irish 2000 Guineas winner POWER (sire of 3 G1 winners in 2021), and her granddam is G3 Premio Dormello placegetter UMNIYA (Bluebird) -a half-sister to the dual stakes winning granddam of high-class sprinter HIT THE BID (Exceed And Excel). This filly’s third dam is a half-sister to G1 Prix Maurice de Gheest winning sire BOLD EDGE (Beveled).

This colt is a half-brother to four winners notably Listed Ibhayi Stakes winner ALBERT MOONEY (Captain Al) and G1 placed Umngeni Handicap winner SUNSET EYES (Western Winter). His stakes placed dam, who won six and was second in the Listed Syringa Handicap, is a half-sister to Listed Queen’s Nursery winning sire BUSH CONQUEROR (Bush Telegraph).
