Klawervlei Stud’s well performed young stallion ROYAL MO (Uncle Mo) has made a very smart start to his stud career, despite having only had a handful of runners.
According to respected website Arion, Royal Mo is South Africa’s Leading Second Season Sire of 2022-2023.
At the time of writing, Royal Mo heads that premiership with his runners having amassed more than R5.3 million, placing him above such G1 winners as ERUPT (Dubawi), CANFORD CLIFFS (Tagula), and RABADA (Brave Tin Soldier).
The star of Royal Mo’s first crop thus far is the classy ROYAL AUSSIE, a briliant winner of the World Sports Betting Gold Rush last time out. Trained by Justin Snaith, the Klawervlei bred Royal Aussie looks destined for bigger and better things this season.
Himself winner of the G3 Robert B. Lewis Stakes, Royal Mo is a son of outstanding sire UNCLE MO (Indian Charlie).
The latter, whose progeny also include Kentucky Derby winning champion NYQUIST and dual Breeders’ Cup hero GOLDEN PAL, has some very smart three-year-olds to his name this year. Uncle Mo’s sophomores in 2023 include unbeaten G3 Southwest Stakes winner ARABIAN KNIGHT, a leading hope for the 2023 Kentucky Derby, as well as highly rated recent debut winner BISHOPS BAY.
