Klawervlei Stud’s triple G1 winning sire, and proven G1 source, CAPTAIN OF ALL (Captain Al) enjoyed plenty of success as a racehorse at Hollywoodbets Scottsville, and he had more joy at Scottsville over the weekend when supplying two winners on Sunday.
Both of Captain Of All’s Sunday winners are trained by Dennis Drier -who trained Captain Of All as well.
The son of Captain Al’s first success on Sunday came when his two-year-old daughter RED ROSES TOO got off the mark when victorious in Scottsville’s first race. Under Keagan De Melo, the Captain Of All daughter proved too strong for promising debut winner PRINCESS OZMA (Futura) and won, going away, by nearly three-parts of a length. It was nearly six lengths further back to the third-place finisher, AIR OF MYSTERY (William Longsword).
Red Roses Too was making just her second start on Sunday, with the filly having needed the outing when fifth on debut. Bred and owned by Gill Drier and Peter de Marigny, Red Roses Too looks an exciting prospect for her sire and looks set to build on Sunday’s win.
Captain Of All is also the sire of promising gelding LUNARCAM, who caught the eye when storming home to land Sunday’s sixth race in a smart fashion. Under Craig Zackey, the three-year-old ran on strongly to justify tote favouritism and win convincingly by just over two lengths. (The sixth race was a good one for Captain Of All who is also the sire of third placegetter SAV’S STAR).
Bred by Ridgemont Highlands, Lunarcam has now won two of just five starts for owners Dr M W Rohwer, Messrs B D Airey, J Te Riele, E Cantatore, W Fyvie & G Teichman.
Also, sire of multiple G1 winner LINEBACKER, Captain Of All has seven lots on offer at the upcoming National Yearling Sale.
