Klawervlei Stud’s red hot sire TWICE OVER (Observatory) has an outstanding crop of three-year-olds this season, and the former European champion came up with another sophomore stakes winner when Twice Over’s daughter YOUNG LOVE made all to land the Listed World Sports Betting Sweet Chestnut Stakes at Kenilworth on Sunday. Trained by Andre Nel, Young Love was given a superb ride by Grant Van Niekerk, who wasted no time in taking his mount to the front.

Under a strong ride from Van Niekerk, the Twice Over daughter kept finding more in the closing stages to hold on and win by nearly half a length. The lightly raced Young Love has now won twice from just six starts.

Young Love, who is bred on the same Twice Over/Casey Tibbs cross as dual G1 Vodacom Durban July winner DO IT AGAIN, was bred and owned by Sabine Plattner.

She is one of a number of high-class performers to have emerged from Twice Over’s current crop of three-year-olds, which also include G1 Cape Guineas winner DOUBLE SUPERLATIVE, G2 Senor Santa Stakes victor SMORGASBORD and Listed Ibhayi Stakes winner RESONATE.

Also sire of current unbeaten Zimbabwe star CALL THE WIND, Twice Over has five lots on offer at the upcoming National Yearling Sale.
