Klawervlei Stud’s red hot sire WILLIAM LONGSWORD struck again this weekend, when supplying two more eye catching winners, with William Longsword supplying winners in both Hollywoodbets Greyville and Hollywoodbets Kenilworth this weekend.

The former G1 Cape Guineas winner is also the sire of speedy filly TIPSY TINA, beaten just half a length into second place in Friday’s Listed Milkwood Stakes at Fairview. The Klawervlei Stud bred Tipsy Tina joins a growing list of stakes horses representing William Longsword this season.

William Longsword filly SHANTA’S PRIDE produced a fine performance when she won the ninth and final race at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday. Under Richard Fourie, the Peter Muscutt trained three-year-old came with a strong late run which saw Shanta’s Pride get up close home to win by a neck, with another William Longsword filly DOUBLE DREAM beaten just over half a length into third spot.

Bred by Bush Hill Stud, Shanta’s Pride, who had finished second to William Longsword filly SHIPHOLIA last time out, races for the Hollywood Syndicate. The talented filly has now won or been placed in five of just seven starts.

William Longsword looks to have another progressive sort to his name in the form of three-year-old LAUGHING WILLIAM. The latter provided trainer Eric Sands with a second winner on Sunday when he captured the fifth race at Kenilworth. Under a strong ride from Sean Veale, Laughing William powered away to break his maiden comfortably by a length and a quarter, with fellow William Longsword gelding RED WILLIAM taking third.

Bred by Klawervlei Stud, Laughing William, who had finished second and fifth at his two previous starts, is owned by Itssa It & Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd.

His sire has had enjoyed a purple patch of late, with William Longsword’s other recent winners including G3 WSB Legal Eagle Stakes winner ITSRAININGWILLIAM and fellow stakes winners LORD WILLIAM and VIRGINIA SWEET.
