His close relation GIMMEANOTHERVIKING (Gimmethegreenlight) made a brilliant start to her career when that three-year-old made a winning debut at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth.
Under Craig Zackey, the Dean Kannemeyer trained filly overcame considerable greenness to win Saturday’s Join The Race Coast Turf Club Maiden Plate (1200m) by a length and a quarter, going away!
Bred by Khaya Stables, the Varsfontein Stud bred Gimmeanotherviking is a sister in blood to G1 winners GIMME A PRINCE (Gimmethegreenlight) and THE REAL PRINCE, as well as to the hugely exciting three-year-old GIMMIE RULES.
That trio were all produced by William Longsword’s G1 winning half-sister REAL PRINCESS (Trippi), whose full-sister VIKING PRINCESS is the dam of Gimmeanotherviking.
William Longsword himself came up with a good looking winner on Friday. His lightly raced son THE MARQUEE got off the mark in fine style when he won the first race at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday. Under Serino Moodley, the Andre Nel trained colt powered home to win the Welcome To Hollywoodbets Greyville Maiden Plate by a neck for owner-breeder Sabine Plattner.
